Pass Meet a huge success!
We had a great time at the Pass meet with 21 of our swimmers from the Bronze, Silver and Gold taking part – and 21 swimmers getting BEST TIMES!
Special high-fives go out to Zach Currie and Jamie Tait who got their LMR time and to Kierstin Higgins for having the fastest times overall in all of her events. Full event results attached.
Pass Meet Thank You from Your Board
We had a wonderful turnout of volunteers helping the Club execute an 'on time' and seamless Pass Meet for our most junior swimmers this weekend. Thanks from the board go to all our vollies who gave freely of their time to support the future of our Club. To note, Alice Mastalir inspirationally lead the charge sharing her knowledge, love, and attention. Norm Strim, as meet manager, calmly organized the many details leading up to the event. Dave Higgins deserves special thanks for deciphering our new timing system in preparation for our Sanctioned Meet next month. Gwen Milley, who garnered the timing system grant funding, gets honourable mention. Well done to Brandi and her swimmers, and to all those who contributed.
With the Sanctioned Meet a mere month away, please block your calendars for Saturday May 28, and Sunday May 29. The Sanctioned Meet is an opportunity for our Club to showcase our strengths, both in and out of the water, to both the Whistler Community and to other swim clubs. It is expected that all Club parents and swimmers participate. Let's all put on a great show!
Kamloops Classic Meet June 3,4,5 – Expression of Interest
This is a three day meet – though swimmers don’t have to attend all three days - at the 50m pool in Kamloops. Anyone interested, please let me know as soon as possible.
Natasha Strim has got a block of rooms at the Thomson Rivers University Residence (it is walking distance from the pool) where a number of us stayed last year. If you are interested in staying at the residence I can forward you the information.
Whistler Meet coming up! DATE IS May 28-29 – Sign up
As Stan has said – we are expecting all of our swimmers to take part in this meet. Please email me to confirm your attendance.
Wavemaker Meet this weekend
We have 12 swimmers headed to Victoria this weekend. It will be our first Long Course (50m) meet of the season, and for some of our swimmers, it will be their first Long Course Meet ever! Good luck to Kat, Jacob, Georgia, Oliver, Mackenzie, Macy, Corinne, Robyn, Jamie, Gregor, Lucy, and Kieran!
