Welcome letter from your Head Coach
Just a quick note to say Hello and Welcome Back!
I am excited about getting back into the pool, and I hope that all of you are as well. It has been an amazing summer. I hope all of you took advantage of the weather and the extra days off as best you could and now you are looking forward to this new season as much as I am!
The first official day of swim club will be October 6, due to the pool closure at Meadowpark. However, there are a couple of chances for our swimmers to get back into the water before Meadow Park re-opens. The Platinum and Qualifier groups have been invited to join the Squamish Swim Faster Team practices, while those swimmers who are 12 or younger, who have been swimming for 2-3 years, are invited to participate in coached sessions that will be happening during the SwimBC Coaches Conference taking place in Whistler at the Fairmont September 27 and 28. If you or your swimmers are interested in joining in with either the Squamish Swim Faster practices or the sessions at the Fairmont during the Coaches Conference, please let email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I would also like to say, “Hello and Welcome” to our new Assistant Coach – Saxon Farnworth. Saxon comes to us from Australia and has a great deal of experience working with swimmers of all ages, but is especially good with the younger age groups. We are excited that Saxton will be working with our Olympic Way and Competitive Development Bronze and Silver groups.
A few more new things will be coming up this season:
- Our cool new website! Weekly updates will be made and blogs posted each Thursday – so keep an eye on it!
- The Whistler Sea Wolves are hosting both a Pass Meet and a Sanctioned two-day meet! This means getting parents trained up to do Timing and Stroke-and-Turn officiating.
Look forward to seeing you all in October!
