Program

Program

The SeaWolves train from September to June, Monday through Friday, at the Meadow Park Sports Center in Whistler.  The club is open to children from six+ years of age and upwards who are able to swim 25 meters of frontcrawl non-stop.  We also run a Masters program open to all levels of swimmers 19+.

Our club prides itself on its accessibility and inclusivity for all ahtletes regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression (LGBTQ2S+), sex, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, language, education, or income.  The facility provides us with full handicap access (including an aqua lift), private changing rooms, and ample public transportation options.

We offer a 3-level Junior Development Group (Bronze, Silver, Gold), which swimmers advance through based upon their level of mastering specific skills:  learning the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), starts and turns, and building good technique.  Typically, these groups train between 2 and 4 sessions a week.  From there, athletes who are able to commit to a full competitive training program become part of our Senior Competitive Development Program (Platinum), This group focuses on achieving competitive racing times, refining skills and strokes, and participating in regional and national competitions.

The Sea Wolves strongly encourages cross-training.  Many of our members participate and excel in other sports; as such we support their busy schedules by offering the two times per week "Cardio Edge" training program which enhances over-all physical conditioning, while providing advanced skill development.
