Sea Wolves Open Invitational Swim Meet
Date: Saturday, May 25, 2024 and Sunday, May 26, 2024
Time: 12-6 pm, both days
All swimmers should arrive at 12 pm on Saturday and Sunday and enter via the main entrance at Meadow Park Sports Centre. Swimmers should proceed directly to the fitness studio (down the hall past the change rooms) where there will leave their gear. The fitness studio will be their base for the afternoon.
The fitness studio is where swimmers will check in with their coaches, and receive the event and heat numbers for their races.
Swimmers will do a pool warm-up at 12:30 pm, and then go back to the fitness studio where they will have a snack/drink and then wait until it is time to be marshalled.
Competition from approximately 1:30-6:00 pm.
Location: Meadow Park Sports Centre
This is the Club’s biggest event of the swimming season. It is a fully sanctioned swim meet with competitive swimmers from around the Lower Mainland and sometimes the US. It is a chance to see a higher level of competition and get an idea of how far your child can progress if they choose. Meet registration is included in our Spring session registration fees and all attendees will receive some type of meet swag, which they won't want to miss. All swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend this meet.
What to bring
swimsuit, cap and goggles
at least one towel
lots of healthy snacks
a water bottle
something to keep your swimmer busy (preferably not ipads and phones)
Important Info
Swimmers will be expected to be respectful of those around them, clean up their own garbage, and be aware of when their races are coming up.
Coaches will be circulating on deck to help get racers to their events and give feedback on performances, but they are not intended to be babysitters.
Disqualifications will happen—especially to those who are new to swimming and/or racing. Please look at DQs as opportunities to learn about how to do something better, rather than as a failure. While it may be disappointing at the time, it is a necessary step toward become a good racer.
