Note about meet fees
Please note that once an athlete commits to a meet, the meet fees become due and payable to the club and can not be reversed and/or refunded unless:
The swimmer cancels prior to the meet entry deadline, or
If the meet is cancelled by the organizers or our participation in the meet is cancelled due to lack of interest, or
If there is a medical issue, and the athlete meets the hosting club's specific rules for a refund.
Date: Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11, 2022
Eligibility: All swimmers
Format: TBC
Meet Fees: **** Be sure to include coaching fees as well as meet entry fees. Approximately $25-$50 per swimmer per day for coaching fees.
*The total per swimmer will likely fall in the range of $65-$100 per day but could be higher. Refer to the meet package or talk to the Head Coach if you have questions.
Swim BC Fee competitive upgrade: If you have not already paid the competitive Swim BC fee and your swimmer has already competed in one sanctioned meet this season, you will be billed for the difference before your swimmer can be entered into the meet.
Sign-up Deadline: Wednesday, November 23, 2022
Location: Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool
Meet Package: https://www.swimming.ca/en/meet/37976/
Hotel Info: See here
Other Info: Currently, the only things I can tell you is: the meet is starting on Friday, December 9 (I don't know the start time, but probably about 7:00 am warm-ups) and ending on Sunday, December 11.
Usually, the morning heats would finish around noon, and the kids would be done for the day unless they made finals or were in relays.
In the past, all the swimmers who were staying at the Howard Johnson (Elk Lake) would meet in the lobby and we would walk to the pool as a team. The kids would hang out on deck and swim their respective races, and then go with their families for the afternoons. Usually, there would be a team lunch/dinner on the Saturday between heats and finals. Friday and Saturday evenings there are usually relays in the finals session, but once those are done, the swimmers are once again free to go with their families.
N.B. As a general rule, we need at least five swimmers to sign up for a meet in order for the club to attend, however this does not always apply to Championship meets (Divisionals, Provincials, etc.)
The sign-up deadline has passed.
